(December 2, 2014) Marking yet another milestone in Glatfelter history, Dave Wyrwas will retire in the first quarter of 2015. Wyrwas will be transitioning the leadership of Glatfelter Specialty Benefits to Keith Brandstedter. Most recently Brandstedter held the position of senior private banker with Wilmington Trust Company and he also holds a Series 7 and 63 and Life and Health Insurance License.
Wyrwas has been an integral contributor in the success of GIG, having been with the company for 32 years. Originally hired as the manager of the retail agency’s life, group and pension department, Wyrwas has held several leadership positions during his tenure with Glatfelter Program Managers, including Vice President of VFIS Benefits Division, President of VFIS and President of GSB. Wyrwas is credited with building both Length of Service Awards Program and A&S products and assuring their long term success.
Wyrwas has long been a leader in the ESO community and has held the following positions:
- Founding member, past president and past executive director of The National Fire and Police Pension Fund Association.
- Board member of the National Volunteer Fire Council Foundation.
- Past president PA Fire and Emergency Service Institute.
- Past board and advisory board member of the National Fallen Firefighter Foundation.
Wyrwas is also involved in the local community, serving on the executive board of the New Birth of Freedom Council BSA.
