Appetite Guide for Healthcare
- Glatfelter Healthcare offers specialized insurance for both for-profit and not-for-profit healthcare facilities, including hospice, home healthcare agencies, and senior living.
- Hospice/Home Health: Countrywide
- Senior Living: Countrywide except certain venues in AK, CA, DC, FL, HI, NJ, NM, NY, NV, PA, WV
- Submissions must include property if they're located in a non-cat prone area.
- All risks are subject to size limitation and/or venue restrictions.
Appetite Guide for Education Institutions
Glatfelter Public Entities' educational program covers K-12 public schools, private, charter, and select religious schools, community and junior colleges, and vocational schools, as well as coverage for independent school bus contractors.
- Rural and suburban public school districts of various sizes and many boards of education are generally a good fit
- 2-year junior, community and vocational schools without dormitories may also be eligible
- Countrywide except AK, DE, HI, KY MS, NY, TX, and WV.
- Casualty lines only in AR, IA, FL, KS, MO, NE, and OK.
- Limited coverage available in NC and PA.
- Preferably in business for three years, but start-up schools may be eligible
- Select non-Catholic religious schools are acceptable given that religious doctrines and texts are not the primary focus for education
- Virtual and cyber components are acceptable, but the school should not be 100% virtual
- Schools must be properly accredited
- Not-for-profit Charter Management Organizations (CMO's) preferred
- For-profit CMO's may be considered
- Schools with dormitories will not be considered
- Private and Select Religious Schools - Countrywide except AK, HI, KY, and OK
- Charter Schools - Countrywide except AK, HI, IA, KS, KY, MT, ND, NE, OK, SD, VA, VT, and WV
- In business for 5 years
- A minimum premium of $50,000 (generally 35 bus units)
- Wheelchair accessible units should be less than 25% of the total bus fleet count
- Fleet consists of a majority of school buses. Vans are acceptable, but should not make up the majority of the fleet
- Operates in rural or suburban communities under 100,000 in population and at least 20 miles outside of a major city (major city is defined as any city with a population over 250,000)
- No more than 15% non-school bus operations
- Limited number of drivers over the age of 65 and under 23
- Maximum of 200 power units
- Available in all states except: AK, HI, KS, and OK
Appetite Guide for Emergency Services
- VFIS is the largest provider of insurance to fire and emergency services organizations (ESOs) in the country and serves a wide variety of ESOs countrywide, including organizations that respond to fires, medical emergencies, and community safety incidents, as well as communication centers and organizations that support the efforts of ESOs.
- Exceptions: VFIS does not write municipal ESOs or police departments—however, we do insure these classes of business through our Glatfelter Public Entities Program.
Appetite Guide for Municipalities
- Glatfelter Public Entities' robust municipal program focuses on cities, towns, villages, and other political subdivisions below the county level with populations of up to 30,000.
- Additions: Some miscellaneous public entities of various compositions and purposes are also eligible.
- Exceptions: Countrywide except AK, AL, HI, KY, and LA.
- Casualty Only: FL, KS, OK and TX
Appetite Guide for Religious Organizations
- Glatfelter Ministry Care provides specialized religious coverages nationwide for many faiths, including Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, and Buddhist. Our products cover a wide range of ministry from daycare centers and schools to camps and missionary travel.
- Exceptions: Glatfelter Ministry Care does not write Catholic risks.
- Countrywide except HI
Appetite Guide for Water Entities
- Glatfelter Public Entities' boasts one of the largest insurance programs for entities that treat, store, or distribute water, as well as entities that treat wastewater or other entities with water-related primary operations.
- Exceptions: Countrywide except AK and HI
