Client Risk Solutions

Every Moment Matters

Not just when a loss occurs. In fact, the most important moments often happen before a claim ever takes place. That's because the way you prepare for the unexpected often determines how well you're protected against it. But how do you prepare when the unexpected is, by definition, unknown? By leaning on those who've been there.

As insurance specialists, we've learned from our experience and the experiences of our clients. We treat every loss as an opportunity to learn how to better protect against the next one. For us, insurance protection means more than coverage—it means helping you prevent the worst from happening.

That's why we offer quality risk management services and evaluations to better:

  • Determine your unique areas of risk
  • Provide ideas for reducing that risk
  • Offer ongoing support to help keep your organization as safe as possible

We've Been There… Literally

Not only do we specialize in the markets we serve, but many of our associates volunteer or have worked within those same industries. That means when you speak to one of us, there's a good chance that they've stood in your shoes, facing the same risks and challenges that you do. This is exactly what helps us provide better service and protections.

Mike Baker, Director, VFIS Client Risk Solutions

Prior to coming to Glatfelter in 2003, Mike's life was already dedicated to the fire and emergency services community as a third-generation responder himself. He served as a firefighter and EMT, and continued to remain active in his local EMS and fire department for over 25 years. With his first-hand experience in the field, he's able to relate to insureds on a professional—and personal—level and truly understand the risks they face each day.

Having completed over 700 risk consulting meetings with fire and EMS clients across the country, Mike loves that his role gives him the opportunity to connect with responders and that he's able to use his experience to make a difference in the lives of those who make a difference every day.
