Glatfelter Insurance Group Offers Insurance Mentoring Program for High School Juniors and Seniors
Glatfelter Insurance Group is pleased to offer local high school students a unique program focusing on careers in the insurance industry. Audrey Crilley, Training Specialist, has teamed up with the York County Alliance for Learning – YCAL – to provide interested students with education on general insurance topics and career opportunities.
This six-month program meets once a month for two-hours per session. Students are provided with text books and have reading assignments. Reviews are conducted during class. It is an interactive experience as the students participate in fun activities that reinforce the material in the books. Guest speakers visit the classroom to discuss job skills and duties in marketing, underwriting, claims, actuarial science, risk management, and other insurance careers. Leads for job shadowing opportunities and internships are also provided. Participating students receive diplomas from GIG and certificates from successful course work with the Insurance Institutes of America (IIA). A graduation ceremony is held at the end of the program and internships are awarded to the top performing students.

Mark McCrary Named President of Glatfelter Public Practice
Glatfelter Public Practice (GPP), a division of Glatfelter Insurance Group, is pleased to announce that Mark McCrary, AIC, ARM, has been named President. Mr. McCrary previously served as Regional Vice President for GPP. As President of GPP, Mr. McCrary will oversee the division’s sales and marketing operations with a keen focus on strategic distribution relationships.

Glatfelter Insurance Group Named PA/DE ESOP Company of the Year
Glatfelter Insurance Group (GIG) was named Company of the Year by the Pennsylvania/Delaware Chapter of the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) Association. This award was presented to several of Glatfelter’s ESOP Committee members at September’s annual conference in Scranton, PA. GIG will now automatically be a nominee for the National ESOP Company of the Year award, which will be announced in May 2010. |

Glatfelter Insurance Group Acquires Professional Underwriters
(January 1, 2009, York Township, PA) Anthony P. Campisi, President/CEO of Glatfelter Insurance Group, and William Kronenberg III, CEO of Professional Underwriter Company announced today that they have entered into an agreement for the Glatfelter Insurance Group to acquire Professional Underwriters Company.
Anthony P. Campisi said, “Professional Underwriters and Glatfelter share a long history and commitment to serving the insurance and risk management needs of public entities. We are impressed by Professional Underwriters’ talented underwriting team led by John Solari and that team’s commitment to controlled growth and high quality service.
John Solari will be promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Underwriting Officer of Glatfelter’s Public Practice division, and along with his team, will continue to operate out of Exton, PA.”
